Elisa Benítez Hernández hails from Luvianos, Mexico. She is a lifelong advocate for migrant rights in the Carolinas -- including anti-deportation campaigns, restoring licenses for undocumented immigrants, and more. She now applies her research and work as Office Manager of ourBRIDGE for KIDS. During the pandemic, Elisa was instrumental in successfully coordinating the purchase and delivery of culturally relevant groceries to hundreds of Charlotte families at the height of the pandemic. Elisa has a BA in History and an MA in Latin American Studies from UNCC. Elisa’s work is rooted in the autonomy of marginalized communities and self-advocacy.
